These Healthy Foods Can Help Make You More Productive

Okay. So everybody has heard that old adage that “we are what we eat”. If you are like me, you might not really even fully understand what this actually means. Does this mean that eating an apple will make me an apple? I didn’t think so.

The thing is that when it comes to understanding how what we eat affects our relative levels of brainpower and motivation, this all starts to make a lot more sense. We all know that eating can make us feel slow, sluggish and lethargic. Most of us have probably even experienced how difficult it can be to get anything done after gorging on a high fat snack or a deep fried feast.

The good news is that this all works in the other direction as well. In fact, there is evidence to suggest that eating right will not only make us feel good but can actually boost our overall brainpower potential by up to 20%. This is why it is so important to eat right when you are working hard.

So what are the superfoods that we can stock up on to help max out our productivity levels? Read on to find out.

As if there weren’t enough reasons to love avocados. These nutritional powerhouses are great for stimulating blood flow, and this means that they can help you get a steady flow of blood to the brain to keep your productivity levels high throughout the day.

Think of the effect of this ripe green fruit as a nice cold morning shower for your brain.

Nuts are not only high in brain and memory boosting Vitamin E, amino acids and antioxidants, but they are also chock full of the protein and healthy fats that we need to keep our productively levels high and avoid burnout as the clock drags on.

It doesn’t hurt that they are super easy to nibble while you work either!

Fresh salmon is super high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which is not only super effective at fighting off depression and fatigue but also has some of the best proven brain-boosting properties out there.

Berries are a fantastic source of antioxidants, which are crucial to maintaining a healthy and strong memory.

As a general rule, darker berries like blueberries and blackberries will general have even more brain-boosting power than lighter colored berries like strawberries and raspberries, but it’s all good!

Eggs really are the breakfast of champions, especially when you consider that these delicious little nutritional powerhouses have been proven to improve both memory and mental reaction speed. That said, eggs are also high in cholesterol, so be sure to only consume in moderation.
